Dawn of the DeadThis post is dedicated to all women who fight for the horror genre, most of whom are just as amazing as these 25 women. You rule, ladies, and don't let anyone tell you otherwise.
Great list! These women sure do rule!
ReplyDeleteWonderful! I'd add Karen Black and Pamela Franklin, but, damn, there's just so many good ones!
ReplyDeleteYeah, I could have gone on all night. Perhaps 25 MORE Amazing Women in Horror Films will come later...
ReplyDeleteGreat job Mike! Loved the list!
ReplyDeleteJust wonderful, Mike. You rule!
ReplyDeleteLove that you included Marilyn Eastman here. We all forget Helen Cooper in light of her jerkface husband, crazy Barbra, and socially significant Ben, but she is one of the most grounded characters in that film and deserves such credit.
ReplyDeleteAlso, love you for being classy and cool.
Very nice tribute :)
ReplyDeleteI love Myrna Loy!!! I'm so glad she was included, and I'm adding The Mask of Fu Manchu to my Netflix queue ASAP! I can't believe I've never seen it. Have you seen the Thin Man series? She is so wonderful in it!
Thanks all!
ReplyDeleteEmilys - I thought you were both the same person when I got the emails about new comments, and got really concerned for your sanity. Then I noticed the C, and all made sense.
And you both make great points. I almost listed Judith O'Dea from NOTLD, and then I thought about how much Karen meant to that movie.
As for Myrna Loy and The Thin Man, I totally love them. Plus the couple of movies she did with Cary Grant...ahhhhh, so good. Mask of Fu Manchu has her as the evil daughter of Fu, played by Karloff. Not great, but that alone makes it a must see.

ReplyDeleteYay for Ashley Bank! =D
