And I was really hoping DeNiro would bring it in this but, alas, seems not to be the case. Sounds like he might need his own Travolta-style PULP FICTION rescue from irrelevance. Will Erricksonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16285306262078600804noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6132620721136610844.post-79628472246932440402010-09-09T00:46:14.715-05:002010-09-09T00:46:14.715-05:00Well I enjoyed this film. And I'm surprised it did as well as it did last weekend. This film is not everyone's cup of tea, but I like the fact that exploitation films still have a place in modern cinema. Great review. I'll be doing one in the next couple of days myself.Fred [The Wolf]https://www.blogger.com/profile/03208803636786210066noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6132620721136610844.post-58691910470573625942010-09-05T18:52:18.289-05:002010-09-05T18:52:18.289-05:00I had a feeling this Machete would turn out to dis...I had a feeling this Machete would turn out to disappoint some people. I haven't seen it and will probably wait until it comes to Red Box or free to Netflix.
Dreaded Dreams
Petunia ScareumAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6132620721136610844.post-6649684069294590462010-09-05T02:20:20.020-05:002010-09-05T02:20:20.020-05:00Yeah, I try not to fault it too much for the plot....Yeah, I try not to fault it too much for the plot. I didn't necessarily expect art, I guess I just expected a bit more with my sleaze. Small problems that I hope will fade with repeate viewings and lower expectations. The Mikehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09871017982169159144noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6132620721136610844.post-24157462015786389772010-09-04T20:08:44.356-05:002010-09-04T20:08:44.356-05:00I didn't walk in there expecting art, and I go...I didn't walk in there expecting art, and I got the feeling during the film that the studio wasn't expecting it either, so that's my explanation for the flimsy plot. But yeah, I agree with you, the whole immigration theme wasn't handled very well.LaceyVhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13377499743012389970noreply@blogger.com
